Within the Neighbourhood Plan for the Southern Raval and Southern Gothic Quarter, a programme of trickle-down actions to improve housing, facilities and public space in the seafront neighbourhoods of the old city, the Barcelona City Council proposes the neighbourhoodification of Moll de la Fusta (wood dock) between Passeig de Colom and Moll de Bosch i Alsina to gain a new space for daily use.
It is a matter of intensifying the use of Moll de la Fusta for sports activities for all ages, as well as recreation and neighbourhood gatherings. It is also necessary to improve the connections with the Gothic Quarter through the natural accesses of the Rambla and Plaça d’Antonio López, and enhance the new access through the Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli.
The proposal is translated into a study to improve the accessibility and comfort of the Moll de la Fusta.
